Casely-Hayford Fall/Winter 2014–A myriad of influences informed Casely-Hayford’s fall/winter 2014 outing as opposites were drawn together for a varied presentation. While simple images of Jay Z and Michael Jackson spawned an attraction for sportswear with a minimal execution in graphics, the De Stijl movement combined with American football stripes put the collection into perspective. Taking a prevalent hunger in today’s market for casual streetwear, Casely-Hayford elevated the notion with a refined touch. Here, the idea of street culture is expanded past the common threads of bombers and sweatshirts to circle around a mixing pot of printed knitwear, elongated shirts, graphic jackets and other items, melded together in an inspiring mode.
