Having been stripped of their power and nobility, the Shizoku were forced to forge new identities as civilians. Jean-Raymond elaborates, “I was compelled to recall this almost mythic society that led a life of stoic tradition but suddenly had to change and adapt. In the aftermath of struggle, these clothes represent their evolution.” Here, graphic elements represent the Shizoku post-battle. Taking aim at the appeal of luxurious sportswear, simple pieces are redefined with rich materials that include leather and cashmere. Adding a modern element, Gor-Tex and nylon infiltrate the collection, decorating oversized sweatshirts, slim-cut trousers and shirting.
